Hexbrook Journal Entry #8

It was by sheer accident I learned about the highly secretive Mothman Society, also recognized as the local cult of Hexbrook. I’d gone downstairs into the library’s basement in search of old periodicals, rifling through seemingly hundreds of dusty cardboard boxes with no luck. I somehow wound up tripping over a poorly placed dictionary on the ground and subsequently knocked a column of boxes over. The resulting mess not only had me finally finding the periodicals I’d been looking for, but also discovering a strange symbol painted onto the basement brick wall. I traced the design with my fingertips, only realizing once I’d traced it completely from start to finish that it was a moth with the letters MMS etched in one of its wings. And with that discovery my entire focus of research shifted on axis until I discovered the Mothman Society’s headquarters in the abandoned silver mine.
